About the Show

Thanks to laws like the ADA and the IDEA Act, schools are required to provide reasonable accommodations to disabled students. But that doesn't mean schools are taught in the way disabled students learn. In this podcast, students examine the ways that the education system conflicts with their disabilities and how all students could benefit from greater accessibility. Then, we envision what school would look like if disabled students were not an afterthought to be accommodated, but the valued, respected primary demographic of our world.

Host Christina Baker

Growing up as a high-achieving disabled student, I always noticed when my classes didn't work for me, but it wasn't until college that I found the words to describe it. The more I've learned about disability, the more passionate I've become about sharing disabled experiences and stories. I hope this podcast can raise the bar for how we think about inclusion.
